Health department officials would be visiting ICMR-approved private labs, Dr Lal Pathlabs, SRL Diagnostics and Healthians from next week onwards. Every week, the officials will do the quality assessment as many inconsistencies were reported.

A health official from PGIMS, Rohtak, said that senior doctors from the department of microbiology are going to head the committee, which will prevent the false positive cases.

Last month, three private diagnostic centres were authorized to conduct COVID-19 tests in Gurgaon. Approximately, 100 samples from the district are sent to PGIMS Rohtak on a daily basis, whereas another 100 samples are tested by these private laboratories.
